A Year-End Gift with Rabbit-Year Spirit: Foil-Stamped Red Packet Design

Challenge

Every year-end, Howdy Creative wanted to thank clients and partners with something physical, not just an e-card or an off-the-shelf gift. The team set out to design a red packet with real design character, something that felt distinctly Howdy Creative, so the gesture would carry a bit more surprise and festive spirit when it reached people's hands.

Goal

The goal was a Year of the Rabbit red packet that went beyond being a container for lucky money, one that also carried the brand's warmth and creativity. Refined graphic design paired with specialty print finishing would let recipients feel the extra thought put into the gift during the holiday.

Approach

1. Built the concept around 'a gift full of thoughtful detail,' developing two themes: Fortune Blooms (財運滾滾，錢兔似錦), wishing wealth and prosperity, and Great Leaps Forward (事事順利，兔飛猛進), wishing smooth progress in everything.
2. For Fortune Blooms, used a European-style horizontal envelope pairing a rabbit illustration with antique coin motifs, finished in gold and silver dual foil stamping to convey the image of prosperity flowing in.
3. For Great Leaps Forward, printed a simplified running rabbit illustration on a special gold ink envelope, expressing a wish for overcoming obstacles and smooth progress ahead.

Outcome

Both red packet themes were finalized and printed on schedule, delivered to clients and partners before Lunar New Year as Howdy Creative's year-end thank-you gift, and left behind a design foundation the studio can build on for future zodiac years.
