The record

There are 82 projects published as case studies on this site, dated 2016 to 2026. Each one names the client, the year and the services involved, and the numbers stated in them are traceable to source material we hold. We do not publish work we cannot evidence.

A project usually appears under more than one practice, so the column adds up to more than 82.

Who we work for

Our client base splits roughly three ways, and the way a project runs differs sharply between them.

  • Government agencies and public bodies, including forestry and agriculture authorities and municipal departments. These run on public procurement rules, fixed acceptance milestones and formal documentation.
  • Universities and cultural institutions, including national universities, EMBA programmes and literature and heritage museums. These are curatorial projects with academic review built in.
  • Small and medium enterprises and owner-run brands, particularly in food, agriculture, hospitality and retail. These move fastest and are where identity work turns into packaging, retail space and e-commerce in one line.

Some of our public-sector work is subject to agency permission before it can be shown. If a specific sector reference matters to your decision, ask and we will tell you what we can and cannot share.

Credentials

  • Operating in Taiwan since 2009 (formerly Mr. Bear Design), incorporated as Howdy Creative in 2015.
  • Ministry of Economic Affairs technical service capability registration in three categories: visual communication design, design collaboration, and exhibition planning.
  • Founder is PMP certified (Project Management Professional), and holds an EMBA and doctoral study in design.
  • B Corp Certified from 2020 to 2023, with a B Impact score of 85.4.
  • In-house installation crew for exhibition and environmental work, rather than subcontracting the build.

How we are usually engaged from outside Taiwan

  • A brand entering the Taiwan market that needs identity, packaging and retail presence adapted rather than translated.
  • An overseas organisation exhibiting in Taiwan that needs design, build and on-site installation under one contract.
  • A parent company whose Taiwan subsidiary needs local design capacity that reports back in English.
  • A design or architecture firm that needs a Taiwan-side production partner with its own crew.

Where we are not the right partner

We are a studio, not a scale vendor. If you need a large volume of low-touch production artwork, continuous social media output at high frequency, or a team physically embedded in your office outside Taiwan, another partner will serve you better. We would rather say so at the first call than discover it in month two.

Frequently asked

Can we see work in our sector before we commit?
Yes. The case studies on this site are filterable by practice. For sector references that are not published, ask us directly; some public-sector projects need the commissioning agency's permission before we can show them.
Do you work with brands entering the Taiwan market?
Yes, and it is one of the clearer fits. Market entry usually needs an existing identity adapted for local retail, packaging regulations and Chinese-language naming, not a new identity built from zero.
Are the numbers in your case studies verified?
Yes. Every figure stated in a published case study is checked against source material we hold, and claims we cannot evidence are removed rather than softened.
What is the smallest project you take?
A standalone logo with basic usage rules. Below that, the coordination cost is larger than the work, and we will say so.
