A New Look for the Annual Gathering: Event Visual Design for the Chinese EMBA Union

Challenge

The Chinese EMBA Union holds its annual conference every year and needs its visual identity and on-site experience to stay fresh in order to keep engaging Chinese-speaking business leaders worldwide. For the 5th conference, the challenge was to unify the exhibit panels, wayfinding, and stage backdrop into one visual system that carried the theme "Co-create the Future, Connect the World," while giving attendees an on-site experience that felt both professional and genuinely fresh.

Goal

Design a complete event visual system for the 5th annual conference, using a hot-air balloon motif to connect the exhibit panels, wayfinding, and stage backdrop. The goal was to strengthen the conference's brand identity and create an on-site atmosphere that felt both professional and warm for attendee networking, leaving every attendee with a memorable impression.

Approach

1. Built the key visual around a hot-air balloon motif, tying it directly to the conference theme "Co-create the Future, Connect the World" so the message was immediately legible on sight.
2. Extended the key visual to the stage backdrop, exhibit panels, and on-site wayfinding, unifying the visual language and navigation across the venue so nothing broke apart between zones.
3. Planned signage and layout placement around the venue's actual traffic flow, so attendees could follow the conference schedule and pacing smoothly throughout the event.

Outcome

The 5th Chinese EMBA Union annual conference carried the hot-air balloon motif across its stage backdrop, exhibit panels, and wayfinding system, giving the theme "Co-create the Future, Connect the World" a unified and memorable visual presence and atmosphere on site.
