Howdy Creative planned a traditional Chinese medicine beauty exhibition for the Lifu Museum of Traditional Chinese Medicine, using spatial partitioning and multimedia interactive installations to fit multiple themed display walls into a long, narrow corridor inside an office building.

Challenge

The Lifu Museum of Traditional Chinese Medicine sits in a long, narrow corridor inside an office building, with limited wall space to work with. TCM beauty knowledge spans both ancient and modern practice and covers a lot of ground, requiring several distinct themed walls to be fully presented within that confined space while keeping one consistent visual identity throughout.

Goal

The client wanted dense, technical TCM theory turned into something visual enough to draw in a younger audience. Beyond the aesthetic challenge, the exhibition also needed to fit multiple themed walls into a limited footprint and use digital interaction plus portable display units to strengthen how visitors engaged with and absorbed the content.

Approach

  1. Built multi-level wall structures with carpentry work along the narrow corridor, cutting what was a single walkway into multiple independent display zones and solving the underlying shortage of display surface.
  2. Translated both the classical and contemporary sides of TCM beauty practice into visuals, unifying the identity language across all the themed walls to keep the overall look consistent.
  3. Introduced multimedia interactive installations and a portable exhibition kit, letting the content extend to settings beyond the fixed display zones.
